Job Title:
Artisan- Electrician - Underground/ Hard Rock

Job Purpose: 

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to support product development, evaluation, and testing processes. The role involves using specialized measuring equipment and diagnostic techniques to test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with Electrical Engineers to assess performance and implement modifications to operational electrical machinery.

 Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical circuits, including simulation in line with specifications
  • Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare diagrams and technical specifications to clarify the design of experimental electronic units
  • Install, maintain, and modify electrical control systems, equipment, and prototypes based on engineering data
  • Interpret electrical system design plans and recommend enhancements
  • Calibrate instruments and diagnose faulty equipment
  • Assemble, test, evaluate, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring and systems
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems
  • Install, program, and maintain PLC systems
  • Carry out weld repairs as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • N3 qualification with a Trade Test in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Solid knowledge of electrical codes and best practices
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience with diagnostic and testing equipment
  • Good understanding of PLCs, HMIs, and VSDs, including setup, programming, and software troubleshooting.
