Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking a practical, people-oriented Data Analysis and AI Support Specialist to help employees across the organisation make better use of AI tools, data, and reporting in their day-to-day work. This hands-on enablement role focuses on data analysis, reporting, AI-assisted productivity, governance, training, and user support, enabling employees to confidently and responsibly apply AI and data tools within their existing workflows. The successful candidate will collaborate with teams across the organisation to analyse internal data, identify meaningful insights, assist with reporting requirements, and support the responsible adoption and use of approved AI tools, including ChatGPT Business, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, and other relevant technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, patterns, risks, opportunities, and actionable business insights.
  • Collect, clean, structure, and consolidate data from multiple sources to support analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and data visualisations based on business and management requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for new insights, reporting metrics, and analytical improvements from existing datasets.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements and translate them into practical analytical solutions and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on the effective use of approved AI tools, including ChatGPT Business, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Claude, and related technologies.
  • Identify and implement practical AI and data analysis use cases that improve productivity, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training materials, user guides, and workshops focused on AI, data analysis, reporting tools, and responsible technology use.
  • Act as the first point of contact for AI, reporting, and data-related queries, providing troubleshooting and user support across the organisation.
  • Promote compliance with AI governance policies, data privacy legislation, data handling standards, and responsible AI usage guidelines.
  • Assist with scripting, workflow automation, prompt engineering, and process improvements to streamline repetitive administrative and reporting tasks.
  • Monitor AI adoption, reporting utilisation, and organisational data-analysis needs, identifying gaps, opportunities, and return-on-investment outcomes.
  • Stay informed of emerging AI technologies, data-analysis methodologies, reporting tools, and industry best practices, and share relevant insights with stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 with a relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a data analysis, reporting, IT support, digital enablement, business intelligence, or technology training role
  • Hands-on experience working with data, including cleaning, analysing, interpreting, and presenting information in a practical business context
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data cleaning, and basic analysis functions
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI for reporting and dashboarding (advantageous)
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or Claude (advantageous)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Basic understanding of coding, scripting, automation, or data processing concepts (e.g. Python basics, Power Automate, prompt engineering, or similar tools) — software development experience not required
  • Ability to work with data from multiple systems and sources, identify inconsistencies, and prepare data for reporting or analysis
  • Understanding of data privacy principles and POPIA compliance, particularly in relation to AI tools, data handling, and reporting
