Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a technically strong and hands-on Senior IT Support Technician (IT Support Technician 3) to join their Information Technology team. The successful candidate will provide advanced IT support to head office and site users, resolve escalated technical issues, assist with site installations, support IT infrastructure, assets and equipment, and contribute to IT documentation and end-user training. This role offers an opportunity for career progression to IT Administrator 1, subject to performance, technical capability, and operational requirements.
Experience:
- Experience with Jira or similar ticketing/tracking systems.
- Experience with endpoint protection software, preferably ESET.
- Basic networking knowledge, including LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, and VPN troubleshooting.
- Exposure to routers, firewalls, NAS devices, backup solutions, user data archiving, and CCTV/NVR systems.
- Exposure to Linux, virtualization platforms, ERP/business systems, and automation tools will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
- Minimum 4–6 years' relevant IT support experience.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and user account administration
Qualifications:
- Completed Matric / Grade 12.
- Relevant IT qualification or certification will be advantageous.
