Job Title:
Mechatronics Engineer
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, and maintain integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems that enhance automation, improve operational efficiency, and optimise overall system performance.
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Design and develop automated systems and control solutions.
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into fully functional systems.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain, monitor, and optimise existing automation systems.
- Analyse system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams by diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant safety regulations, quality standards, and operational requirements.
- Strong systems thinking and analytical skills.
- Excellent technical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years' experience in automation, mechatronics, or control systems.
- Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Solid knowledge of robotics, sensors, automation, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
