Electrical Clerk
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Maintenance and Electrical Technician to conduct general maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, as well as electrical control and instrumentation (C&I) equipment and prepaid water metering systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and metering equipment, providing technical support, and carrying out maintenance activities across the Western Cape region.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance on single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, electrical control and instrumentation (C&I) equipment, and prepaid water metering systems.
- Install single-phase and three-phase electrical systems, electrical C&I equipment, and prepaid water metering equipment.
- Issue sign-offs and Certificates of Compliance (COCs) for completed installations.
- Respond to technical queries, service calls, and fault reports.
- Oversee contractor installations to ensure compliance with required quality and technical standards.
- Ensure adherence to and enforcement of health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Manage contractor installation schedules and job cards.
- Administer meter registration on the vending system.
- Conduct monthly electricity and water meter readings.
- Compile customer invoicing information for services rendered.
- Manage and control stock, including monthly stocktake reporting.
- Perform monthly revenue protection analyses, audits, and inspections.
- Compile and submit monthly audit and inspection reports, highlighting findings and corrective actions.
- Attend site meetings and client visits as required.
- Prepare and submit technical reports.
- Record, monitor, and resolve technical faults and customer complaints within agreed timelines.
- Manage and maintain company assets, equipment, and vehicles.
- Conduct energy balance analyses for key accounts.
- Operate in accordance with company systems, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Work overtime when required.
- Participate in standby duties on a rotational basis when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Qualified Electrician with a Trade Test from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience.
- Valid Wireman's Licence.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong technical and general problem-solving abilities.
- Positive, service-oriented attitude with a customer-focused approach.
