Sales Engineer
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer to promote and sell products and technologies, apply mineral processing expertise to develop tailored solutions, provide technical support to clients, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the mining and mineral processing sectors.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through to closing deals.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotations and tender documentation.
- Conduct client and site visits and maintain regular liaison with clients and stakeholders.
- Report on the sales tracker and identify marketing activities to improve success rates.
- Report on the leads tracker to ensure Marketing and Business Development efforts generate new leads across new and existing territories.
- Monitor competitors and their strategic marketing activities to maintain competitor awareness.
- Align marketing activities with sales revenue and performance.
- Review contracts and provide relevant comments and feedback.
- Schedule and conduct weekly meetings with clients and leads.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, site visits and sales opportunities.
- Maintain and update tender registrations and supporting documentation.
- Follow up on submitted tenders and potential leads.
- Provide market feedback to management to support product development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mining companies, EPCMs and plant operators.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global agents and actively engage in sales and marketing strategies.
- Provide technical and marketing support to global agents.
- Conduct ongoing global market research to identify new projects, opportunities and leads.
- Represent the organisation at trade shows, conferences and technical seminars.
- Organise and administer trade show stand designs, promotional materials and related marketing requirements.
- Prepare technical presentations, case studies and marketing materials.
- Promote new product launches, technologies and innovations to the market.
- Consistently update marketing materials, including the website, brochures and project information.
- Provide after-sales support to ensure client satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Prepare product handover packs following sales for coordination with the Process, Engineering and Technical Departments.
- Chair product sales handover meetings.
- Create and publish a minimum of two relevant LinkedIn posts per month aligned with the organisation’s business activities.
- Uphold ethical standards and consistently act in the best interests of the organisation.
