Job Title:

Head of Risk 

Job Purpose:

Our client is seeking a Head of Risk for a leading non-profit organisation in the retirement living and care sector.

Responsibilities:

The Head of Risk is responsible for leading enterprise-wide risk management function, ensuring that strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, clinical, health and safety, reputational, and governance risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and effectively managed.

The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and provides regular risk reporting, assurance and recommendations to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC). The role supports the Portfolio Team and ARC by developing risk frameworks, maintaining the organisational risk register, advising on mitigation strategies, and embedding a strong risk-aware culture across all departments and facilities.

Qualifications & experience:

• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, governance, assurance, or a related field.
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a senior management or leadership role.
• Experience reporting directly to a CEO, Executive Committee, Audit and Risk Committee or Board.
• Experience in healthcare, aged care, retirement services, non-profit, property, insurance, or another regulated service environment would be advantageous.
