Sales Representative 

Job Purpose: 

Our client is seeking a Sales Representative in the private and public metering space, responsible for selling electricity, water, and gas metering solutions and products to customers. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, technically minded individual who will actively identify and engage prospective customers. You will be responsible for providing complete and appropriate solutions for each customer to drive top- and bottom-line revenue growth and profitability.

 Responsibilities:
  • Promote the company’s products and services.
  • Meet sales targets and budget requirements.
  • Analyse and investigate pricing, demand, and competition.
  • Liaise with customers and technical teams to assess equipment needs and determine system requirements.
  • Conduct market research and cold calling to identify new business opportunities and potential customers.
  • Prepare detailed proposal documents and manage formal tender/bidding processes.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product/service demonstrations to prospective customers.
  • Communicate new product developments to existing and potential clients.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to deal closure.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Spend the majority of time in the field engaging customers and prospecting for new business, rather than working from the office.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in a private sector utilities environment.
  • Proven sales track record, with experience in the utilities and metering space (advantageous).
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve sales targets.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain and grow customer relationships.
  • Ability to perform and grow in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English.
