Job Title:
Financial Accountant
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Financial Accountant with at least 8 years’ experience in financial accounting, preferably within the construction industry. The role entails financial planning and management accounting, general accounting and reporting, fixed asset and project accounting, as well as developing and managing staff to ensure effective operating procedures.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an Accountant (construction experience advantageous)
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrates high levels of discretion and maintains strict confidentiality
- Excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)
- Strong communication skills
- Financial planning skills
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, VAT and income tax legislation, audit requirements, and SARS depreciation regulations
- Strong planning, organising, prioritising, and time management skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12
- BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification
- Registration with CIMA, SAICA, or SAIPA would be advantageous
